Back To The Basics and Fundamentals
Two sisters come to mind: Martha… JESUS said “thou art careful and troubled about many things.” Mary… JESUS said “but one thing is needful, and Mary hath chosen the good part. ” (Luke.10:41-42). Yes, we mimic Martha more times than we should, however we must maintain a Mary mentality, which is basic and fundamental… “Siting at the feet of JESUS, hearing and obeying his word.” this is what Greater Bethel is all about. Always trust in JESUS.
Our Purpose
The purpose of this local congregation is to give visible form to that faith and fellowship to which God has called his people. We acknowledge ourselves to be part of the universal Church, through which Christ fulfills this calling, through corporate worship services and through a program of Christian nurture by which our members may be built up in their faith and love, through the proclamation of the gospel by work and deed, and through ministering to human need in the name of Christ.
The Vision
It is the vision…of a place where the hurting, the depressed, the frustrated and the confused can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance, and encouragement.
It is the vision… of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with hundreds of thousands of residents in the State of Texas.
It is the vision… of welcoming thousands of members into the fellowship of our church family, loving, learning, laughing, and living in harmony together.
It is the vision… of developing people to spiritual maturity through bible studies, small groups, seminars, retreats, and a bible school for our members.
It is the vision… of equipping every believer for a significant ministry by helping them discover the gifts and talents God gave them.
It is the vision… of sending out hundreds of career missionaries and church workers all around the world.
It is the vision… of at least 25 acres of land, on which will be built a regional church, with beautiful yet simple facilities including a worship center seating thousands, a counseling and prayer center, classrooms for bible studies and training lay ministers, and recreational area.
All for this will be designed to minister to the total person, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and socially, and set in a peaceful inspiring garden landscape.
God has said. “ WRITE THE VISION, AND MAKE IT PLAIN UPON TABLES, THAT HE MAY RUN THAT READETH IT” (HAB 2:2B)
God has said ,”BEHOLD I AM THE LORD, THE GOD OF ALL FLESH. IS THERE ANYTHING TO HARD FOR ME”? (JER32:27).
Again God says “ FOR I KNOW THE PLANS I HAVE FOR YOU, DECLARES THE LORD, PLANS TO PROSPER YOU AND NOT TO HARM YOU,
PLANS TO GIVE YOU HOPE AND A FUTURE”. (JER 29:11) PRAISE THE LORD!!!
